A foundation, normally, stops the living world in its tracks: it digs, it pours, it seals. What if it did the opposite? How can we design housing that actively enhances the biodiversity of its neighborhood rather than destroying it? This project explores the notion of an inhabited plinth: a building whose foundations become ecological corridors, where the boundary between interior and exterior dissolves in favor of the living world.
