Between the bark and the wood of every tree, a thin membrane carries the sap, carrying life from leaf to root, and giving rise to forests. That's the liber. Humanity found in this living source an extraordinary material for their first books (liber, in Latin) and their first clothing. In an age of concrete and advanced technology, it felt essential to remind ourselves that no architecture can exist without life.

A building isn’t finished the day it’s delivered.
That’s exactly when it begins to live.
A house is inhabited the way a garden is tended: it takes shape with the seasons, with those who pass through it, with the moss that eventually settles at the foot of the north wall. We design buildings built for that kind of age, unafraid of time, leaving room for the living world.
